SYN-AKE

SYN-AKE is a synthetic tripeptide designed to mimic the structure and receptor activity of waglerin-1, a component of temple viper venom, without derivation from the actual venom. It has been studied primarily in topical cosmetic research for its proposed ability to relax facial muscles involved in expression lines, in a manner distinct from botulinum toxin. This profile addresses SYN-AKE in the context of reconstituted, subcutaneous protocols, an administration route with considerably less published research than topical use. As with related cosmetic peptides, injectable-specific safety and efficacy data remains sparse.

Reported benefits

  • Studied topically for reducing the appearance of expression wrinkles
  • Proposed to act through a distinct receptor mechanism from botulinum toxin and other cosmetic peptides
  • Investigated as a non-toxin, venom-mimetic approach to muscle relaxation research
  • Explored in topical formulations targeting areas of repeated facial movement

How it works

SYN-AKE is proposed to act as a competitive antagonist at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors on muscle cells, similar to the venom peptide it mimics, potentially reducing the muscle contractions responsible for expression lines. Unlike botulinum toxin, which blocks neurotransmitter release presynaptically, SYN-AKE is theorized to act at the postsynaptic receptor itself.

Read before using

This tool produces a rough, educational estimate by scaling commonly-published research ranges to lean body mass. It is not a prescription, medical advice, or a substitute for a licensed clinician. Most peptides use fixed dosing, not weight-based dosing. Individual needs vary. You are solely responsible for how you use this information.

Common questions

What is SYN-AKE used for?

Reported benefits include studied topically for reducing the appearance of expression wrinkles, proposed to act through a distinct receptor mechanism from botulinum toxin and other cosmetic peptides, investigated as a non-toxin, venom-mimetic approach to muscle relaxation research.

What is a typical SYN-AKE dose?

Reported ranges run 2-8 mg. A low protocol is 2 mg per session, and a high protocol is 8 mg per session, at the higher end referenced in limited protocols. This is reference information, not a dosing recommendation.

What is the half life of SYN-AKE?

Not well characterized for subcutaneous administration; limited pharmacokinetic data specific to injectable use is available.. That is what sets the dosing frequency, and it is why the timing guidance is morning & night (topical).

How is SYN-AKE administered?

Subcutaneous: into fat, under the skin. This profile covers SYN-AKE in reconstituted, injectable/subcutaneous protocols rather than conventional topical cosmetic formulations.

How long is a SYN-AKE cycle?

Periodic sessions over several weeks are described in limited sources on, followed by Standardized off-periods are not established off. Injectable protocols for this peptide remain largely exploratory and are not grounded in controlled clinical trials.

What are the side effects of SYN-AKE?

Reported side effects include injection site irritation given limited injectable-specific data, uncertain systemic effects due to sparse injectable safety research, possible sensitivity reactions, theoretical concern given its venom-mimetic receptor activity, which has not been well studied via subcutaneous administration. Evidence level for this compound is emerging research.
