GHRP-2

Also known as Pralmorelin, KP-102

GHRP-2 is a synthetic hexapeptide-class growth hormone secretagogue that acts on the ghrelin receptor to stimulate pituitary growth hormone release. It has been studied since the 1990s, including as a diagnostic agent for growth hormone deficiency testing. Research suggests it produces a reliable, dose-dependent GH pulse with moderate effects on appetite, cortisol, and prolactin. It is commonly used in research and community protocols aimed at recovery, sleep quality, and body composition support.

Reported benefits

  • Increased GH/IGF-1 output
  • Improved recovery and sleep quality
  • Modest lean mass support
  • Mild to moderate appetite stimulation

How it works

GHRP-2 binds the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) in the hypothalamus and pituitary, mimicking endogenous ghrelin to trigger a pulse of growth hormone release. This pathway is distinct from, and reported to synergize with, growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) signaling. Activation of GHS-R1a also modestly raises ACTH/cortisol and prolactin and stimulates appetite via hypothalamic ghrelin signaling.

Read before using

This tool produces a rough, educational estimate by scaling commonly-published research ranges to lean body mass. It is not a prescription, medical advice, or a substitute for a licensed clinician. Most peptides use fixed dosing, not weight-based dosing. Individual needs vary. You are solely responsible for how you use this information.

Common questions

What is GHRP-2 used for?

GHRP-2 is a synthetic hexapeptide-class growth hormone secretagogue that acts on the ghrelin receptor to stimulate pituitary growth hormone release. It has been studied since the 1990s, including as a diagnostic agent for growth hormone deficiency testing. Research suggests it produces a reliable, dose-dependent GH pulse with moderate effects on appetite, cortisol, and prolactin. It is commonly used in research and community protocols aimed at recovery, sleep quality, and body composition support. Reported benefits include increased gh/igf-1 output, improved recovery and sleep quality, modest lean mass support.

What is a typical GHRP-2 dose?

Reported ranges run 100-300 mcg. A low protocol is 100 mcg once daily, and a high protocol is 300 mcg three times daily. This is reference information, not a dosing recommendation.

What is the half life of GHRP-2?

~30 min. That is what sets the dosing frequency, and it is why the timing guidance is ~30 min before bed, empty stomach.

How is GHRP-2 administered?

Subcutaneous: into fat, under the skin. Injected subcutaneously into abdominal fat, typically on an empty stomach

How long is a GHRP-2 cycle?

8-12 weeks on, followed by 4 weeks off. Cycling is commonly used to offset reported ghrelin-receptor desensitization and appetite/cortisol creep

What are the side effects of GHRP-2?

Reported side effects include increased hunger, water retention or mild edema, transient cortisol/prolactin elevation, injection-site irritation, tingling or flushing. Evidence level for this compound is well studied.
