Compounded Glutathione Injectables Recalled Over Endotoxin Contamination

Centric Compounding LLC has issued a nationwide recall of six lots of compounded injectable products, including Glutathione 200mg/mL, Myer's Cocktail, and Tri Immune Boost, after finding that the Glutathione active ingredient used contained elevated endotoxin levels, according to an FDA safety alert.

The recalled products were distributed nationwide through home delivery and prescriber shipments in 30mL multidose vials. The company reports receiving nine complaints describing fever, chills, chest pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, or malaise among people who used the products. The FDA notes that injectable products contaminated with endotoxins carry a reasonable probability of causing serious reactions including fever, low blood pressure, systemic inflammation, anaphylactic shock, and death.

Affected lots span Glutathione, Myer's Cocktail, and Tri Immune Boost vials with beyond use dates between August and September 2026. Consumers who have any of these products are advised to stop use immediately and discard remaining vials rather than return them. Centric Compounding is contacting distributors and prescribers directly and arranging replacements.

This case is a reminder that compounded wellness injectables are not standardized the way approved drugs are, and quality issues in raw ingredients can affect an entire supply chain before problems surface clinically.
